Sally's appointment marks a significant moment in Central Murray Bank's history.
She brings a rare combination of institutional knowledge, formal expertise across business, law, and financial services, and a deep, genuine connection to the communities the bank proudly serves.
Sally began her career with Central Murray Bank (formerly Yarrawonga Credit Union Co-operative Limited) in 1995.
For the past 16 years, she has served as operations manager, where she has been instrumental in strengthening internal systems, leading and developing the bank's people, and ensuring it continues to deliver on its promise of exceptional member service.
Her academic credentials are equally impressive.
Sally holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), a Master of Business Administration with a specialisation in Human Resource Management, a Bachelor of Laws, and most recently, a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security.
Her commitment to continuous learning across accounting, law, people management, and digital security reflects both the breadth of her capabilities and her dedication to keeping Central Murray Bank well-positioned for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Beyond her professional and academic achievements, Sally is a familiar and deeply valued face across Yarrawonga, Mulwala, and Tungamah.
She is known throughout these communities not just for her professional expertise, but for the genuine warmth and approachability she brings to every interaction.
Whether she is supporting a member through a significant financial decision or simply crossing paths with a familiar face in the street, Sally's welcoming nature and authentic care for the people around her reflect exactly what Central Murray Bank stands for.
Board chair Michael O'Dwyer said the board was unanimous in its decision to appoint Sally.
“Her leadership skills, strong community ties, passion, and deep industry knowledge of member-focused banking make her the ideal choice to guide Central Murray Bank into its next chapter,” Mr O’Dwyer said.
“We consider ourselves fortunate to have someone of Sally's calibre step into this role. She has earned it, and she is ready for it."
Sally said she was proud and excited to take on the responsibility of shaping the future of Central Murray Bank.
“This organisation means a great deal to me, and to our community,” she said.
“Our focus will remain firmly on what has always set us apart; exceptional service, supporting our members to achieve their financial goals, and driving initiatives that make a real difference to the communities we call home."
In celebrating Sally's appointment, Central Murray bank also acknowledged the retirement of long-serving CEO John Pattison, who led the organisation for more than 31 years.
Mr O’Dwyer said John's tenure was defined by steady, values-led leadership, and his contribution to building Central Murray Bank into a trusted, community-owned institution was immeasurable.
“We wish John every happiness in his well-earned retirement,” he said.
