Yarrawonga Football Netball Club Junior Football Co-Ordinator Phil Conway confirmed the great news last week and expected many keen juniors to sign up this year despite it being a late and shortened season.
“Many juniors will be so excited to get out and play games with their friends. It is so important we provide these kids something this year.
“The plan is to start round one on Friday, July 17 and run through to the September 4 with a super finals day around September 11.
“We want to be flexible on that date as to maximize the day for the kids. It might be that Saturday the 12th is a better option,” Mr Conway said.
“If juniors are not already registered please download the rego form as soon as you can and return the form via email. There are account details provided in order to achieve contactless registration.
“We remind parents that their registration cannot be processed until payment is made, please feel free to contact myself or Nathan Tresize should you wish to discuss payment options.”
Registration for Auskick is also available via the Auskick website. Go to PLAYAFL.com.au and follow the links.
Mr Conway encouraged parents to read the return to play protocols published by the AFL in conjunction with the Australian government, so everyone understands what we they need to do.
“This will not be difficult to achieve but we must do the right things in order to provide a safe and successful competition for the kids,” he said.
Mr Conway said the popular junior competition has the full support of the YFNC committee and they have a lot do in the coming weeks and as always will rely on parental volunteers to come forward and offer support.
“There will be a list of jobs on offer so when we have put that together it would be great to have some volunteers come forward.
“Nathan and myself will have additional responsibilities this year in the current circumstances in order to meet the COVID SAFE requirements so help will be a must and will be greatly appreciated.
“We look forward to giving the kids some fun, fitness and footy to look forward to each week.”
