It will be the only official football competition in town this weekend when the Yarrawonga and District Little League (YDLL) kicks of its 2020 season at the JC Lowe this Saturday morning.

Auskick will also feature this Saturday after a successful clinic day in Yarrawonga last Saturday morning where up to 120 girls and boys joined in with some older club players and mentors for fun drills both in netball and football.
But with all the excitement YDDL committee members are reminding parents and children about the important COVID-19 safe measures that must be adhered to ensure the competition runs smoothly and within government health regulations.
YDLL committee member Phil Conway said it is important everyone follows the following rules.
All children must have their own water bottle, no shared water facilities like bubblers are allowed.
All children to be dropped at the ground 15 minutes before there allocated start time. It is preferred that time in the group before and after the game is kept to a minimum.
Parents may attend to watch but must not congregate in groups larger than 10 individuals and should always observe the 1.5-meter social distancing.
Parents should not be present at break time huddles unless for medical or caregiving reasons.
Spectators should be spread out around the playing area.
If you or your child feels unwell, please stay at home. This applies to any illness or symptoms, COVID-19 related or otherwise.
“It is our number one priority to keep our kids and community safe and at the same time offer the kids the best football opportunity we can for 2020,” Mr Conway said.
“The success of season is contingent on us strictly following the prescribed protocols.”
Mr Conway encourages all children to come down and give footy a go even if they have not tried it before.
“If your child is not playing any sport at the moment this is the perfect time to bring them down, have them participate and have some fun with other kids in the outdoors, which is so important for kids at the moment.”
If you have not registered yet but would still be interested in joining, late registrations will be accepted. Even if footy is not your first sport new members of any ability would be welcome and encouraged to participate. For enquiries please call Phil Conway on 0428 393 650 or Nathan Tresize on 0419 445 266.
