Another magnificent autumn day in front of a big crowd saw local rivals Rennie and Tungamah clash at Bull Plain Road.
The first term of the main seniors’ game was played at a fever-pitch pace, with the Rennie Hoppers threatening on the counterattack and Tungamah Bears having plenty of shots on goal, although their final execution was poor.
Lewis Taylor was huge early, well supported by Kirchen, who was providing clearances, Chase Strawhorn, who had sticky hands, and Freeman, who provided a solid contest.
Again, in term two, the Hoppers were able to apply scoreboard pressure as Fountain, back after two weeks, was prolific, while Woodhouse acted as the link from half-back.
Term three brought more of the same, but the final term saw the Bears kick five goals to none to win by 83 points. Taylor kicked three for the Hoppers.
Best players were Lewis Taylor and Jarryd Fountain.
Awards: Mulwala Water Ski Club – Dillon Kirchen; Premix King – Ben Woodhouse; Yarrawonga Hotel – Tana Freeman; Lake Mulwala Hotel – Jarryd Fountain.

The Hoppers’ twos were average early and were out of the game by half-time. The difference was across the forward line, as Tunga had targets while Rennie had statues.
The Bears hit targets, Rennie missed, and the ‘Magoos’ need to flick the switch to get their season firing.

The Hoppers won the game with an outstanding first term, which saw a 32-point break at quarter-time.
It was Wallace early who led the way, giving first use to his onballers.
The beneficiaries were Hemphill and Lewis, who used their run and carry, and Longy, who just flits around the ground.
The defence was held together by the indefatigable Strawhorn, who grows in stature each week. Ednie snagged four, while Hemphill and True kicked two each, with Hemphill producing a goal-of-the-year contender for the Hoppers to go five straight, with the two undefeated teams to clash next week.
