The third quarter was closely contested, with both sides defending well before Mulwala added late goals to extend the margin, with Jacko Meade prominent in attack.
In the final term, Mulwala again controlled field position, with forwards capitalising on opportunities.
The defensive unit, led by Kyal Tyson and Dylan Macnamara, remained strong, while the midfield continued to apply pressure.
Highlights included Sonny O’Bryan kicking two goals on debut as the substitute, while Will Cookson impressed in his first official match for the club with a dominant midfield performance. Fellow recruit Matt Holgate also contributed strongly in defence.
Mulwala secured a convincing win, restricting Rumbalara to just three goals. However, the result was tempered by injuries to Van Kreek and Nash McNamara, both sustaining collarbone fractures. The club wishes them a smooth recovery.

The Mulwala reserves produced a gritty and undermanned performance to edge out Rumbalara by two points in difficult conditions.
In a match shaped by strong winds, Mulwala prevailed 3.11 (29) to 4.3 (27), making the most of limited opportunities. Accuracy proved challenging, but the side’s work rate and resilience proved decisive.
With only 14 players available, Mulwala called on five thirds’ players, all of whom contributed strongly. Their efforts were crucial in a hard-fought contest.
Beau Sissons led the way with a standout performance, earning best-on-ground honours while also hitting the scoreboard. He was well supported by Levi Saunders and Declan Wood through the midfield.
Mitch Appleby and Fletcher Woodhead provided valuable support, while Hunter Lonergan worked tirelessly in tough conditions. Maiko Leith featured among the best and added a crucial goal.
Goals were shared between Hugo Varndell, Leith, and Sissons, each proving vital in a low-scoring match.
Despite the challenges, the reserves showed strong character and depth to secure the win.

The Mulwala fourths came out ready to play in the later start, and it showed from the opening bounce. Their teamwork and willingness to work for one another led to another strong win.
Finn Mitchel was outstanding, dominating across the ground.
In defence, Reed McGlynn ensured very little got through, while Lachlan Brown played his role well through the midfield.
Zander Gallagher held his position on the wing and executed his role effectively, and Nash Cook competed strongly in the ruck and around the ground.
Dayne Bromley brought energy and intensity all game, proving a constant presence.
The side continues to gel, consistently supporting one another and playing as a cohesive unit.

Mulwala travelled to Rumbalara to take on the reigning premiers, fully aware of the challenge ahead.
From the first centre pass, the side committed to its game plan and executed its systems with confidence.
In windy and cold conditions, the team did well to steady the ball and play smart, controlled netball, using resets and angles to create space.
Jedda Nolan worked tirelessly in defence, creating turnovers and getting hands to nearly every ball.
Steph Hammond was once again on fire, shooting with confidence from all areas.
It was a complete team effort to secure another win and continue building on new combinations. The focus now turns to next week’s challenge against Numurkah.

Facing a strong opposition, the Mulwala Under 17s defended tirelessly and generated multiple turnovers, but were unable to convert consistently on the scoreboard, trailing by 15 goals at half time.
The team lifted in the second half, significantly reducing the margin through improved conversion and sustained effort, but ultimately fell short by seven goals. It was a determined performance from all players.

The Mulwala Under 15s produced another strong performance in round two, securing a well-earned win over Rumbalara.
Nancy and Nat were outstanding in defence, consistently shutting down attacking opportunities and creating turnovers. Across the court, the team worked cohesively to convert these chances, demonstrating strong connection and execution.
It was an impressive win, with the side building solid momentum heading into next week’s match against Numurkah.

Mulwala’s Under 11s delivered a dominant performance against Rumbalara.
Evie’s defensive efforts were exceptional, earning her the Charlee’s Charcoal Chicken award. Koby was influential across the court with several impressive intercepts, taking home the Papalia’s award.
