B Grade

Myrtleford came out firing in B Grade.
They started strong with a high scoring 14-12 first quarter, drawing level in the second - maintaining their 2-goal lead, then came out of the third quarter with scores level after a momentary lapse of focus towards the end of the quarter, taking a little too long to work positional changes into the game.
The Myrtleford team forced the Roos to reassess and trust their training to invest in the basics, getting back to the netball they enjoy.
It was a four-quarter tussle, and the Roos came out on top, gaining momentum in the final period and extending to their largest margin at the final whistle, winning by 5 in an impressive 11-6 final term.
The depth and versatility of the team was the winning ticket this week, with positional changes forcing the Myrtleford players to adjust to their different styles in positions across court.
Awards this week could have gone to any of the girls, with such a ‘teamy’ grind across the game.

Under 17s
Corowa Rutherglen 20 def by Myrtleford 55
This weekend the 17s came up against a very strong Myrtleford side who have been one of the top three teams in the competition all season.
They are an extremely well-coached side with fantastic talent and depth across the court, and I genuinely hope they go a long way this year because they have all the attributes of a quality team.
The Roos came out of the gates semi-strong in the opening stages, sticking well to their game plan and matching the intensity early.
Unfortunately, the game got away from them through the middle stages, which forced them into playing catch-up netball while still trying to implement their structures and game plan out on court.
Defensively, it was one of their stronger performances.
They were able to win plenty of ball in the defensive end and create opportunities through pressure and hard work, however they struggled at times to convert those turnovers into scoreboard pressure.
Awards
Club 1: Lilyana Murray-Wright - Lilyana was outstanding in Wing Defence, providing enormous depth and pressure through their defensive end. Her ability to transition and become a key ball carrier out of defence was extremely valuable and she worked tirelessly all game.
Club 2: Dekoda Smith - Dekoda once again gave 110% effort from start to finish. Her work rate in defence was exceptional as she continually applied pressure, turned over ball and worked hard to shut down Myrtleford’s attacking end.
Club 3: Maci Coats - Maci played a blinder. She executed the game plan exactly as asked and brought a fantastic defensive mindset to the court. Her work rate was outstanding, and she was able to create multiple turnovers through her pressure and determination.
