Following its recent announcement as a finalist for Swimming Victoria Club of the Year, the club was represented at Friday night's awards at the Lakeside Function Centre at the Victorian Institute of Sport by President Dario Prighel, Head Coach Lyndon Hart, Secretary Renee Cox and Life Member Rosemary White.
While YMSC did not take home the major award, the club congratulated Ringwood Swimming Club and Ballarat GCO Swimming Club, who were both named Clubs of the Year following a period of significant growth and development.
Being selected as a finalist was a significant achievement for the country club and recognition of the dedication of its long-standing coaches, committee, officials and volunteers, along with its swimmers and families.
The evening also brought recognition for the wider Ovens and Murray swimming community, with Sally Whitehouse awarded the President's Trophy, while Randal Jones received his Five Years of Service Technical Officials Pin.
YMSC said it was extremely proud of how far the club had come and looked forward to continuing to develop its swimmers, volunteers and future leaders while making a positive contribution both in and out of the pool.
