Male charged with assaulting police

A 29-year-old male from Micklehan was charged with assaulting police after an altercation at the Mulwala Ski Club on December 28.   

Police were at the club when an altercation between several men started in the foyer of the club.   

Police were forced to use capsicum spray to break up the altercation.   

During the incident a police officer was struck to the face by the Micklehan male.   

He was arrested and charged with assaulting police.

Break and enter with intent

Police are seeking information from the public after Lambtastic located in Mulwala was broken into sometime on the December 30.   

Thieves smashed their way into the store via a glass window.   

No property was stolen as a result of the break in.

Small grass fire - Tunzafun

Emergency services were called to a small grass fire behind Tunzafun about 9:50pm on Saturday the January 11.  

A number of people walking in Melbourne Street saw the fire and quickly alerted the fire brigade and police.  

The grass fire was quickly contained and had the potential to cause considerable damage to Tunzafun.    

Police investigations indicated a number of males were seen to run from the area immediately after the fire had begun.

Valentine’s Day gift for aggressive behaviour

A 20-year-old female was arrested after kicking the Yarrawonga Police Station’s door in after she had bailed her partner from the station.   On Thursday, January 9 police arrested a 29-year-old male on outstanding warrants. After being bailed from the police station the male’s partner became aggressive in the station kicking the door causing the glass to shatter. The female was arrested for criminal damage and bailed to appear at the Wodonga Magistrates Court on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2020.

Road Trauma focus 

All Victorian Police units will be focused on road policing to influence a reduction in road trauma as part of a National Day of Action on Friday, January 24. The four main areas of focus are speed, impairment, seat belts and distractions (i.e mobile phones). 

Wanted on warrant
